Files stay at the firm

By ExtraordinaryOS / Jack Smith, company operator. 26 August 2026. Educational only. Not legal advice.

Your client material stays with your firm. ExtraordinaryOS sells the local workflow and templates. We do not receive the petition or the evidence, and counsel retains every legal decision.

This is a local workflow, not a portal. Do not upload client files to ExtraordinaryOS. Do not send them to support.

Why the file does not leave the office

A second-review tool that wants the petition is a third-party recipient of client information. That is a confidentiality problem before it is a product feature.

ABA Formal Opinion 512 (29 July 2024) treats confidentiality as a gating question. Before a lawyer puts representation information into a self-learning tool, the lawyer needs informed consent. Boilerplate engagement-letter clauses are not enough. The same opinion is clear that generative AI cannot replace the judgment and experience necessary to advise clients. Uncritical reliance can violate competence under Model Rule 1.1.

Florida Bar Ethics Opinion 24-1 (19 January 2024) says lawyers may use generative AI. They must protect confidentiality. They remain responsible for work product and professional judgment.

Those opinions are the ethics floor. They are not an endorsement of ExtraordinaryOS. This page is not ethics advice. Counsel applies their own jurisdiction’s rules.

Opinion 512’s informed-consent point is about putting client information into a self-learning tool. ExtraordinaryOS is not in that chain. We never receive the petition. Counsel still decides what the firm itself runs on its own machines, including any model the firm already uses. Keeping the file off our servers does not transfer professional responsibility to us. It keeps us out of the representation.

How that works

  • Run the workflow on the firm’s own machines, local drives, or firm-approved private systems.
  • Do not upload the petition, exhibits, letters, or client identity to ExtraordinaryOS.
  • ExtraordinaryOS does not store, receive, or review client files, and does not train models on firm work product.
  • There is no client portal and no upload path on extraordinaryos.com.
  • Support is for delivery, a broken file, or getting the kit running. Write [email protected]. Do not send petitions, exhibits, or client identity.

If a vendor needs the petition in order to run the review, that vendor has the file. We do not. Support will not take it either, even if you want a second pair of eyes on a live case. Write about delivery, a broken download, or how to get the kit running. The kit is the walkthrough. Email is for getting it running.

What stays with counsel

Legal conclusions stay with counsel. The memo separates Facts; Evidence; Issues; Suggested questions; Counsel legal decisions. The last section is for the lawyer. The model does not fill it.

A model will often agree with whatever you feed it. Keeping the file on firm systems does not change that. It does mean the completeness pass happens where the representation already lives, next to the draft you already wrote.

Confirm the live source before you file. The kit points you at INA, CFR, and Policy Manual chapters for the classification you are actually filing. Counsel checks those sources as they stand on filing day.
